Statement of Purpose

The purposes of the National Health Education Group are to:

• promote the entitlement and delivery of quality health education, including drug and sex education, for all children and young people
• be a national and local voice for promoting practice in which children and young people are central
• inform and influence national and local policy
• promote greater understanding of education for health amongst policy makers, service purchasers and providers
• enhance the quality of health education, within an equal opportunities framework for children and young people.
• provide personal and professional development and support for members
• provide opportunities for members to reflect on and develop their practice liaise with other agencies in order to further the interests of children and young people’s health education
• lobby and act as a pressure group and advocate on behalf of children and young people.
