About Us
NHEG’s accredited, volunteer speakers deliver unique, high-quality audio and visual presentations to audiences of all ages in all settings across the North of the UK, promoting tolerance through the power of personal testimony.

Who We Are
Northern Holocaust Education Group was established to preserve and share the personal stories of Holocaust survivors and victims of Nazi persecution. As fewer survivors are able to share their testimony first-hand, our accredited speakers – descendants of survivors or victims of Nazi persecution – continue this vital work by presenting their families’ histories to new generations.
Through powerful life stories, we encourage audiences to recognise the dangers of hatred, prejudice, and discrimination.
Our Life stories form a rich and unique resource for schools, colleges, places of worship and civic authorities to use as part of their programmes about the Holocaust, discrimination and identity; to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, and to support the History and RS curriculum
Our Vision
To inspire learning from the life stories, experiences, and testimonies of victims of Nazi persecution and the Holocaust; to counter antisemitism and all forms of discrimination; to challenge Holocaust denial and distortion and promote human rights.

Our Mission
To preserve the legacy of Holocaust victims and survivors by ensuring that their stories are never forgotten or denied; to educate, inspire, and encourage audiences to stand up to hatred, discrimination and persecution of any kind.
Strategic Aims
To deliver life story presentations as an enrichment resource to programmes of Holocaust Education.
To provide a network of accredited speakers and ensure that all presentations are delivered in an engaging and impactful way.
To create a support structure for the development and delivery of high quality presentations, which might include personal or family testimony; oral or visual testimony; historical or personal photographs or film.
To set quality standards for presentations to ensure historical accuracy, appropriateness and relevance.
